Newton Corner has a pretty large commercial area that is centered around the Crown Plaza Hotel. The Mass Turnpike also cuts right through Newton Corner which provides great access to residents as do the great bus routes. This makes the Newton Corner Area a great place for commuters.
Marathon Moving does quite a few commercial moves in Newton Corner, but it is primarily a residential area.
We have mentioned that some of the other villages of Newton have historic homes and access to roads and parking. However, Newton Corner is somewhat different. Because Newton Corner intersects with the Pike, Brighton and Watertown, the neighborhoods are more dense. You do see a number of multifamily homes here and the streets and parking are much tighter. This presents challenges when moving in Newton Corner that are different than the other areas of the city.
If you are moving in one of the areas of Newton Corner where parking is harder and the streets are tighter you do want to be sure that the moving van can fit on your street and that you have reserved parking. For the multifamily homes, you also want to be sure that there is access to your home, and that you belongings can be easily brought into and out of your home. If there are questions on any of this, you want to be sure that you bring the moving company in as soon as possible to answer any question you may have.

Moving in the winter might be one of the best deals you get this year. It really comes down to supply. The last few weeks of the summer months are some of the most popular times to move with the highest demand. Conversely, the first few weeks of each of the winter months, January, February and March, are when a moving company has the least demand. So, of course, this is when residential moving companies have the best pricing. So for anyone who has flexibility in scheduling their move it is a great time to get their move done.
However, there are concerns about a major storm cancelling or otherwise impacting their move day. This is a legitimate concern in the Northeast. However, the demand is still the same across the country. If you are scheduling a winter move, it is important to pay attention to winter weather forecasts if you are scheduling a move. Because demand is so low during this time of year, it is most likely that you will be able to reschedule due to a storm. Additionally, a moving company does not want to send its crews out during a storm any more than you want to move during a storm.
While there are a lot of moving parts when it comes to moving, including the actual house closing, the demand is low for everyone involved in the move, so usually if something needs to be rescheduled it can be during the winter months.
While storms are a threat, they should not prevent you from scheduling a move during the winter because most likely everything can be rescheduled.
However, winter may be the time of year when you get the best moving crew to move your household goods. Moving crews are working shorter days which means less hours per week and the cold weather does not fatique the way the hot weather does. Additionally, you will find the most experienced crew in the winter because moving companies are not trying to staff to meet demand.
