"We moved on March 27th – a part of our stuff went straight to storage and a different portion went to an apartment within the same town. Al and his crew; Sean, Dennis, Keiren and John were assigned to our move. I want to start out by saying that this was an emotionally very difficult day for us, one that we had been dreading for some time. However, the entire crew was so friendly and professional, right off the bat we could tell we were in really good hands, and that helped turn the day around. They asked us what needed to be done, and very quickly our move began. They were so hardworking, very fast yet so careful with all of our things. They treated every single item with care, whether it was a family heirloom or a box of books. When we pointed out that a box had our fine china in it – we were told that they treat everything as if it is fine china and that proved to be absolutely true. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for that.

When we got to the apartment, despite the fact that we had previously measured everything, we had a hard time getting the girls’ room to look the way we wanted it to. Sean and Al were so patient as I asked them to move everything about 5 different times. Every time I apologized, they kept trying to assure me that it was more important that it was right for the kids, with smiles on their faces.

I have to say that selling our house, packing our things and moving out were some of the most stressful times our family has been through. I cannot express how much I was dreading the move day, I am happy to say that not only was it unwarranted, but it turned out to be the least stressful part of everything. That is due solely to your employees. Your crew is made up of gentlemen that are the utmost professionals and just wonderful people. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them; I hope that we have the opportunity to work with them again when we move our things to our new house."

You may have heard this about movers, some companies under bid and then hope to find a reason during the move to bump up the cost. Marathon won’t do this, they’ll give you the correct price up front. They’ve moved me twice into and out of storage and each time they did an excellent job. I have a very heavy and larger armoire and the previous company I used, Gentle Giant, brought a crane because it was too big to go up the stairs. I had a window taken out and they dangled it in to my bedroom. When we moved out of that house to storage, Marathon had a crane scheduled to do the same. But on my move day, the foreman took a look at the situation, canceled the crane(saving me a bunch of money), had his guys dissemble the armoire and took it down the steps. On delivery from storage to my new house, he reassembled it in the new bedroom. I’m not sure many movers would have done that as it reduced their final bill a little.
