Government Center Boston

Government Center Boston Massachusetts is the heart of gritty central Boston City. Surrounding Faneuil Hall is the location of many historic meetings which sparked the American revolution. Today it is part of Faneuil Hall Park, housing popular restaurants, bars, specialty stores, cafes, and souvenir vendors. The park also features a spectacular, two-story slate colonnade. Boston Public Market, Haymarket, and Boston Common all sell locally produced and imported groceries, produce, and snacks.

Haymarket is a Latin-inspired open-air mall serving grocery stores, clothing stores, coffee houses, and small specialty retailers. It is one of the oldest shopping centers in Boston. Haymarket is packed with tourists during weekdays. On weekends, many local restaurants cater to hungry shoppers. Live music is performed daily and a number of festivals are held yearly.

The Largest Outdoor Mall in Boston

Faneuil Hall Marketplace is the largest outdoor mall in Boston. It offers food courts, an enormous flea market, and a slate and stone market that last year ranked third in the USA for tourist revenue. Exhibits include antique blankets and furniture, hand-crafted wood crafts, state of the art electronic and fashion jewelry, clothing made from wool and silk, and sports collectibles. The Market is scheduled to begin its season late in May, after Thanksgiving and continues through early June.

Government Center Boston Common is an urban shopping center on Boston’s South End. Located between Boylston and Commonwealth roads, the Market is a year-round tourist attraction. It features a massive outdoor ice skating rink, multiple bars, restaurants, and a theater. Summer is the biggest month, with average temperatures hovering in the mid-teens.

Fenway Park

“Fenway Park” is a large park on Boston’s west side. It is located between Boylston and Commonwealth streets and is south of the Charles River. The park is divided into two parts: a bus terminal and an amusement complex. The bus terminal serves a variety of different kinds of public transportation, including cars, commuter trains, and trolleys.

The Aquarium at Government Center has a star-rated water display and is the home of over two hundred thousand fish. Admission is free. A boat tour of the park is included with admission. Children twelve years old and younger are free to visit the Children’s Zoo and learn more about the creatures in our care. The Aquarium is open Monday through Sunday from noon until four p.m.

The Government Center Pedestrian Mall

“Harmar City,” which means “arshy city,” is located at the southern tip of Boston’s Cape Cod. It is a favorite summer getaway location for families. It was built in colonial times as a hotel. The hotel itself contains a recording studio where you can listen to music, and a gift shop with local and national CDs and souvenirs. The hotel serves delicious seafood. The restaurant features award-winning cuisine.

The Government Center pedestrian mall is located in the northeast part of the city. It features numerous restaurants, galleries, movie theaters, and other shops. There is also a public library inside the mall. The public library features a great range of books, periodicals, and reference materials. Major department stores such as Macy’s, Neiman’s, and Nordstrom’s are located in the downtown area of Government Center.
