For customers seeking some additional protection, we offer Transit Damage Protection. This option meets most needs at a reasonable charge of $199.00. Under this option, customers are protected up to a maximum of $5,000 in total repair/ replacement costs per move, with a $100 deductible. All remaining monies due to settle a claim in excess of $5,000 would be paid at the state mandated level of 60 cents per pound per article. With Transit Damage Protection: If any article is lost, destroyed, or damaged while in transit and in custody of Marathon Moving Company Inc., Marathon will cover the least of the following amounts: the actual cash value of the property immediately before the loss; the cost of reasonably restoring the property to its condition immediately before the loss; the cost of replacing the property with substantially identical property. All claims are subject to the rules contained in Marathon Moving Company Inc.’s tariff and the terms and conditions on the back of our bill of lading.
